Dr. Ross Jenkins is a native of North Carolina. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology East Carolina University. He obtained his 4 year medical degree from the Ohio college of Podiatric Medicine. He completed a premier podiatric residency program at Florida Hospital in Orlando Florida. While there, he served as chief resident. His training included podiatric and orthopedic foot and ankle surgery. During his residency, he also completed rotations in general surgery, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, and internal medicine.
Dr Jenkins is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is a member of both the American Podiatric Medical Association and the North Carolina Foot and Ankle Society.
Dr Jenkins provides comprehensive medical and surgical care of the foot and ankle. In addition to surgical correction of painful bunions, hammertoes and other forefoot ailments he performs complex reconstructive surgical procedures. Ie. Flatfoot, cavus foot, revisional surgery, and charcot deformity. And treats forefoot, rear foot, and ankle fractures.
He is a member of the limb salvage team with Horizon Surgical Specialists and on staff at The Center for Wound Treatment at Caldwell – UNC healthcare.
At the Center for Wound Treatment, Dr Jenkins provides appropriate wound care, advanced wound care modalities, bracing, off loading, and if necessary surgical correction and or reconstruction for limb preservation.
Dr Jenkins frequently lectures at local and state and national foot and ankle conferences. He enjoys weight training, skiing and the outdoors.
He resides in Lenoir with his wife Debra and three children. Riley, Anna and Lawson. He has been treating patients in Lenoir since 1999 and joined Horizon Surgical Specialists in 2010.
